Rolex Ref 16523 Oyster Daytona Cosmograph - Zenith

Err...here's Orchi's 1st Rolex Ref 16523 Daytona Cosmograph with Zenith 400 El Primero movement in 2 Tone 18K Gold/SS case n Oyster bracelet.

After having torn between 2 Daytonas for the past couple of days...Orchi were caught in between 3 Daytonas instead...when Orchi was again offered with the 3rd Daytona which is 2T with a Mysterious Shinny Black dial + Gold Chrono counters + Gold Hands n Markers.

So finally...Orchi decided on this Pre-owned "U" Series 2 Tone Daytona after having the watch authenticated late this afternoon.

Circa 1988~2000
Produced in 1999 "U" series
Mark V Luminova Dials(on Markers/Hands)
as opposed to previous Dials produced with Tritium
"SWISS MADE" at 6 O'clock position
This Dial feature is said to RARE.

This watch came with papers in an Old RED Rolex President box. The luminous markers/hands still glow in the dark.

The mysteriously shinny black dial with Gold borders n luminous marker(so called Mark V)...is still spotless...signed "Swiss Made"(without 2 "T") on the 6 o'clock position.

All hands on the centre of dial n chrono counters...are fine.

Although this watch has been thru some rough n tumble along the way with the previous owner...it is however still in ALL original conditions.

The inside of caseback is signed 16500...n indicated that the watch was last serviced in 2005...at the back it would seem to have been engraved with previous "personal identity"...but it could be easily buffed out without any problem.

There are visible dings n scratches all over the 18K Gold bezel as if it had been heavily worn by its previous owner who probably drove it around auto test tracks...or took it for regular swimming or scuba diving trips.

The Oyster bracelet has the same amount of visible scratches on the 18K Gold centre links...but it's amazingly still tight n straight. As Orchi is posting this...it is now being soaked in mild detergent so as to get rid of some dirt which is accumulated on the Oyster links.

The signed Cal.4030 Movement(Zenith 400 El Primero)that oscillates at 28,800 ath/hr(alternation per hour) is absolutely breathtaking when admired in close details.

This Zenith Movement is reputed to have a power reserve of 54hours.
