Journey as an eBayer...

Err...sometime in March 2008...Orchi embarks on a journey in attempts to participate
in buying n selling in eBay auctions worldwide...

Since then Orchi has successfully purchased some of the nicest Rolex collectible items...such as Watches...Dials...Bezel inserts...Boxes & other accessories from
quite a few eBay Sellers with whom Orchi has made new friends with amongst them.

All in all...the buying from eBay auctions has been a pleasant journey to say the least.

Soon...after a few attempts at posting some of the watches that Orchi has collected over the years for sale...in few eBay listings...Orchi has managed to sell a couple of watches(IWC Ref 3537 Automatic Alarm / Ref 16013 DateJust) to a very friendly Malaysian collector in Petaling Jaya...n the
the Ref 1500 Oyster Perpetual Date ...to the winning bidder Nils Carsten of Germany.

Nevertheless...one of the main reasons how Orchi has faced with some hurdles in eBay when it comes to selling...is the fact that Orchi can't accept Paypal as the payment option despite of it being one of eBay's new policy for new registered Sellers must have verified Paypal account for which Orchi has since been successfully registered with & verified by eBay n Paypal...after completing a lengthy process of communication n sending certified documents as provenance of identity...contact address & financial credibility...etc etc.

However...there is a constraint by the Credit Card Issuers here in Malaysia...that as a Credit Card user...Orchi won't be able to withdraw funds out from the credit card account should there be any credit payment from Paypal upon payments by winning bidders whom would choose to pay with Paypal to begin with...

Hence...Orchi has had to make it very clear in all of Orchi's eBay listings of watches or items for auctions...that Orchi won't be able to accept payments by Paypal from the would be winning bidders in eBay.

Which then bring Orchi to the situation like in the case of the Ref 1500 which was sold to Nils Carsten of Germany...where initially he too paid by Paypal...but Orchi had to convince him to withdraw the Paypal payment...n have him paid for the watch by bank to bank wire transfer instead.

Orchi must say that buddy Nils Carsten is one very understanding gentleman...whom had given his fullest cooperation to the resolve the payment issue faced at the time...

Eventually the Ref 1500 was shipped to him in Germany successfully after receipt of his payment fund...n he had granted Orchi with one of the best feedback anyone could ask for from such a transaction in eBay...which goes like this...

"Positive feedback rating alles fei n gelaufen perfekter ebayer
Buyer: carstennils ( 119 [Feedback score is 100 to 499] ) May-16-08 17:37
Rolex Vintage Ref 1500 Oyster Perpetual DATE Original!! (#270231382807) US $1,850.00"
...which Orchi believes he meant to say..."Great transaction with perfect eBay Seller"

or something like that...

Again buddy Nils Carsten of Germany...thank you very much!

So as Orchi thread along in the challenging journey in eBay...Orchi hopes to post more updates in this blog...as frequent as possible...

Latest update on Ref 6542 GMT Master with no crown guard...

Err...this would be a latest update on the Ref 6542 GMT Master with No Crown Guard...

Thanks to buddy Frank Meeske of Germany from whom Orchi obtained the correct 7206 riveted bracelet with 80 endlinks...& buddy Nicolas Abuaf of Argentina from whom Orchi obtained the correct 24hr small arrow hand...Orchi managed to restore the 6542 to this its current stage...

It's interesting to see the difference between the incorrect 24hr small arrow hand...vs the correct ones.(the last picture showing comparison with the old corroded 24hr hand that came with the watch initially)

What's lacking now would be to find the correct set of Gilt Hands for the watch...
