Latest update on Ref 6542 GMT Master with no crown guard...

Err...this would be a latest update on the Ref 6542 GMT Master with No Crown Guard...

Thanks to buddy Frank Meeske of Germany from whom Orchi obtained the correct 7206 riveted bracelet with 80 endlinks...& buddy Nicolas Abuaf of Argentina from whom Orchi obtained the correct 24hr small arrow hand...Orchi managed to restore the 6542 to this its current stage...

It's interesting to see the difference between the incorrect 24hr small arrow hand...vs the correct ones.(the last picture showing comparison with the old corroded 24hr hand that came with the watch initially)

What's lacking now would be to find the correct set of Gilt Hands for the watch...

Dear Mr Orchipalar
I own a GMT 16700 sold to me by James Dowling. I have studied with interest your very detailed exposition of dial types for this model. My watch, a "R750791" serial, should have your "Version 5" dial, and in examining the photos posted by you, my dial is identical to the "type 5" with the notable exception of a dofference in the shape of the "G" in "GMT". Can you advise???. My actual watch appears on Dowlings book on page 278......although the serial number is the same as mine, the watch he has illustrated has no white metal surrounds!!!!!
